Hair Development, one of the UK’s leading names in hair extensions, is offering the chance to become a brand ambassador for the company. The winner of the HD Girl 2016 competition will win a full head of extensions fitted by a specialist, a professional photoshoot with photos featured in all marketing material and will take part in personal appearances as a brand ambassador. All women have to do to enter is to snap a selfie and tag Hair Development on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook and use the hashtag #HDGirlCompetition.
Following the “real woman” trend, which many other brands have used successfully, Hair Development decided to use a “normal” member of the public in its 2016 campaigns rather than a professional model. The search for the poster girl will continue until 31 October, and any woman aged 18-45 living in the UK can enter the competition.
Janis Levy, Creative Director of Hair Development said, “We want to celebrate the everyday woman in our publicity – after all, that’s who we are marketing to. Real women, who have busy lives but like to look their best, that’s who our extensions are made for. If you’d like the chance to promote our high end hair extensions, then why not enter for the chance to win an extension makeover?”
The #HDGirlCompetition is also designed to raise body confidence and self-esteem, as it has been highlighted recently that selfies are being blamed for a rise in cosmetic surgery, especially among young people. Hair Development want people to share their selfies in confidence, regardless of wrinkles, skin tone or length of hair, and one lucky lady will win the ultimate confidence boost.
Janis said, “The prize for the woman crowned HD Girl 2016 is incredible – the professional extensions and styling alone is worth £795. Then they will be treated to a photoshoot, and see their face on all of our printed marketing materials for the entire year. The HD Girl will have the chance to represent the brand across the UK at all sorts of events – and who knows, it could be the start of a new modelling career.”
Initial judging will take place from 31st October, and then a number of finalists will be chosen to attend HD headquarters in London. The HD Girl 2016 will be announced before the end of 2015, ready to take on the role at the start of next year.
It couldn’t be easier to enter – just upload an image onto a social media platform, make sure you follow Hair Development and tag them to be entered. Don’t forget the official hashtag, #HDGirlCompetition.
